Training

The Difference:

Through my years in and around the industry I have found very few hands-on not so local training programs. Those programs involved training in groups of various different sizes while requiring attendees to conform to the provider's schedule. Those classes were very structured. They followed a specific predetermined agenda that may or may not have addressed an individual's needs while giving individual members of the group minimal attention and practice. Other providers also use a boat, equipment and an environment that is significantly different from what people need or want.

We strive to be different and better by providing local one-on-one hands-on training based on your schedule. We will work on whatever you want to work on the whole time and train at your pace using a boat and equipment that you would be likely to buy. All of this will happen in your local environment. If there is a specific lake or part of the river that you want to become familiar with and explore with GPS we can do that.

Charters (Boat Rides)

The Difference:

I currently operate the 19 foot bowrider you see throughout the pictures on this website. Bowriders are the most common boat on the river and what most families buy. It is a floating 'Mercedes' that can cover a lot more ground in a much shorter time. I can go as fast or slow as you wish. You will have plenty of space, have very comfortable seating, and your views in all directions and of the sky will be unobstructed. The boat has a supreme sound system that you can connect your phone to for music of your choice or flip through my 200 satellite channels. You will not be one of many. You will have space to yourself and be in complete control. My schedule and availability is wide open. I am also willing to facilitate a charter on a lake of your choice if allowed by lake rules.

The possibilities are endless as we can customize a charter to be anything you want it to be; here are some ideas:

  • Special occasions; use to celebrate a special day, a milestone, an achievement,  facilitate an engagement or “sail” away after your wedding at Glastonbury’s Riverfront Park.

  • Scenic joy rides

  • Gain some experience with your family on the water to see if boating is something you want to pursue.

  • Bird watching

  • Familiarize yourself with the Connecticut River in the local area.

  • Go for lunch or dinner at Ferry Park Grill (formerly Shad Row) restaurant in Rocky Hill.

  • Get a ride to, from or between Rocky Hill, Glastonbury, Wethersfield or downtown Hartford.

  • Get them one of the most memorable and unique birthday, Mother's Day or Father's Day gifts they have ever received.

*Be sure to subscribe to be informed of additional captains and boats in more locations are added to our booking system.
